Greetings! I am Mercedes Menjivar. I was born in March 1989, in El Salvador a country in Central America. I have lived there for most of my life currently I live in Taiwan where I am studying Journalism and Mass Communication at Ming Chuan University.

My first language of course is Spanish, through my highschool years I studied in a British school therefore I had to learn English which I consider to be my second language.  Nevertheless, I also studied French to enrich my knowledge by learning more languages.

As I moved to Taiwan I gained the priviledge to learn one more language. Mandarin. In the process of my learning, you get to understand the Asian culture much more each day by simply walking around the street or talking to your peers.

I have enjoyed my experience here in Taiwan so much ,  I decided to expand by knowledge about other cultures as well, so I decided that during my holidays I should travel to another continent.

Therefore, during my winter vacation ( February- Chinesse New Year- Winter break) I travelled to Europe.  Which is a totally different atmosphere compared to the Asian Continent and culture.

After visiting various countries such as Spain, France, Italy, Germany one of the things that called my attention the most is the great history each of this places contains.

It is shown, not only through their arquitecture, monuments and culture but also by their great ‘artistic behaviour’. What I mean by their ‘artistic behaviour’ is a concept that I would use to define the lifestyle in Europe since everyone is an artist.

You see people at the parks, bookshops and even the streets. They are all expresing themselves in any way possible, weather they are constantly painting their surroundings at the parks or simply having a cup of coffee while reading about poetry.

Europe is the home for the best artists through Centuries and of course home to the greatests museums. Nevertheless art has never stopped growing in this area as it also has many great museums for contemporary art.

All I can say is after this trip my interest to appreciate art grew. Since it is incredibly amazing how can artist express their feelings and emotions in such a creative way. Either by a combination of colours or combination of words.

This blog has been designed to help you  find interesting facts and events which you can attend. I hope you enjoy  browsing through the pages and feel free to leave any comments.
